Alexandros Foteinos' curriculum vitae

Alexandros Foteinos was born and raised in Athens, Greece. Since his early childhood he was especially interested in music and started to learn several musical instruments. He studied at the National Technical University of Athens earning a degree of "Surveying Engineering". Music won him over, so he established an artistic management office, arranging musicians for special events and had several live performances with his band during that time.

Mr. Foteinos started smoking at the age of 16 years but managed to quit 10 years later - he tried quitting four times before his successful 5th attempt! He then took on a "healthier life" including jogging, participating successfully in 2 marathons a few years later. He established the "Elefthero Odeio", his music school, in the year 2000 which is his main business currently. In 2005, Mr. Foteinos decided that he and others have a right to clean air in public places in Greece, so he developed the webpage nosmoke.gr for promoting and fighting for this right. In 2007, he wrote the anti-smoking song "Se kani sklavo" (= It makes you a slave / lyrics in Greek) and started promoting it for free for young people throughout Greece. He also established an official NGO by the name "Nosmoke.gr", which is one of the most active and anti-smoking grassroots organizations in Greece today. His interests include music, singing, dancing, reading, public speaking, audio books, jogging, swimming and traveling.
